Dato' Dr. Mohammed Hassan Ariff was interviewed by the Credentials & Qualifications Committee Meeting on 9 August 2000 with a view to bringing him in as a courtesy anaesthetist. The intention was that he would help out in Dr. Haron's list on the days that Datuk Dr. Radha was unable to provide the anaesthetic for Dr. Haron. His application received the support of the MAB but at the MAB Meeting on 8 November 2000, the MAB received news that Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) was unable to release him to take up the post until his bond had been satisfied, sometime in the second half of 2002.
