Dear Ms. Loke,

Re: Suggestions for Additional Equipment for Difficult Intubation

With regard to the above and after discussion with various members of the anaesthetic consultant staff, we would like to propose that you acquire the following in addition to the equipment you have already proposed for the difficult intubation trolley/tray.

1.      Minitracheostomy set.
It is probably best to have at least 3 sets in each OT complex to cater for most eventualities.

2.      In the interim, we would like to suggest that each OT have a 14G IV cannula with an endotracheal tube connector that can fit into the Luer connector. I think you can try out a size 5 ETT connector.

If you have any queries concerning this matter, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Dr. Ngun Kok Wah.
