One suggestion was for the anaesthetic charge to be either that suggested for Anaesthesia for Radiological Procedures or 35 % of the radiologist's fee, whichever is higher.

In general, the suggested fee is to be used only for those cases where the radiologist is not charging a professional procedure charge. For example, in cases where the radiologist charges reporting fees, we should be using this Anaesthesia for Radiological Procedures fee schedule. However, if the radiologist charges a procedural fee, for example, for Embolisation of Tumour, then we should follow his fee (35 %) regardless of whether that would result in a lower or higher fee. However, the Minimum Anaesthetic Charge would then apply if the fees are too low.

Usage of the Anaesthesia for Radiological Procedures charge should not be dependent on the quantum of the radiologist's charge but rather on whether he is charging a professional procedure charge.

Concerning the query on Cardioversion, the new Australian CDM gives a unit price of RM 30.58 which is essentially the same as the current price of RM 30.50. I suggest we do not rock the boat here.

Dr. Bachan Singh will be looking into the charges used by him in his Pain Clinic and he will then be proposing them to me.
